Granny’s Scratch Kitchen delivers great made-from-scratch desserts. Through these desserts, I continue the legacy of Mrs. Amie Sands, my beloved granny who I lost in 2018. As a child, she imparted her wisdom and delicious recipes to me. It is a joy to be able to share these recipes with you through my baking.

THE CHEF

DeMarcus J. Roberts is a graduate of Morehouse College and an accountant by trade. He has 8 plus years of experience in the field of accounting. He has been a Senior Treasury/Revenue Accountant for the past 5 years. Although accounting is his background, baking has always been his passion. Granny’s Scratch Kitchen is his way of honoring his granny while allowing the world to taste some of the greatest desserts.

THE INSPIRATION

February 20, 2018, DeMarcus laid his granny to rest. He recalls memories of assisting her in the kitchen; eventually growing old enough to measure, mix, and sift ingredients. When he was able to read and light the stove, he remembers practicing while his granny was at work. Unfortunately, he can’t go back to those days but still remembers all the nuggets and recipes imparted to him over the years. Amie Sands’ legacy of being one of the greatest bakers and cooks will live on through him.
